You can run but you can't hide...

I have now entered into uncharted mom territory.

The stomach flu.

Clare getting some rehydration therapy in the ER

Yes, I've somehow managed to dodge this bullet for 3.5 years of motherhood. And if anyone has any nice motherly advice to pass on, I'm all ears. Also, if you have a spare washing machine, I'm accepting donations.

Stephen's back to work tomorrow, so I'm on my own with 2 sick and counting... send me your prayer requests and I will happily offer up my sufferings tomorrow for your intentions :) I'll be back with some quick takes on Friday...I hope...

  1. Sending prayers your way!! As for advice.... ONIONS!! I know it sounds crazy but we got really, really sick in the fall and I was looking for ANYTHING to get us better. There is an old wives tale that if you cut up onions and leave them in bowls around the house that they will absorb bad bacteria. Supposedly they also help you get better if you are sick if you place them next to the sick person. All I know is that since November they have been in our house and we have not been sick since then. Call me crazy and into heebie jeebie magic, but we aren't sick. Oh, and your house only smells like onions for a day.
    Best of luck!

    1. So THAT'S what the onion thing is all about...I've overheard people mentioning this but had no idea what they were talking about...Ok I don't know what kind of crazy magic this is but we tried it this afternoon and after a full day of kids laying on the coach moaning and throwing up - everyone just hopped right up and started acting 100% normal????? I need to figure out the science behind this one!! Or maybe just good timing hahaha - I'll keep you posted on our results!! THANK YOU!!!

  2. Oh no!!! I really hope that you especially stay healthy - it stinks to see the kids suffer, but as long as you're healthy you can at least care for them. And your nursing superpowers will keep Emeric healthy!

    Prayers :)

    1. YES that's what I'm hoping Rosie - Emeric is the exact same age Clare was when Ava had RSV and pneumonia simultaneously...and Clare only got some mild congestion!! I'm REALLY hoping it works out the same way this time!!

  3. Oh Jamie the hospital is the worst with littles. I'll send up a prayer for you guys. As for advice, I don't have much but Jordan felt much better in spirits at least being home after the hospital. I just tried to make it as much her regular environment as possible.

    God bless!

    1. Thanks so much Jessie!! We had a pretty crummy hospital experience this time around unfortunately...bleh...when was Jordan in the hospital?? Recently??

  4. This has been crummy, yes; but there is something amusing about the fact that we've been parents for three and a half years and this is new to us.
You are quite amazing, how you handle it all so well. I think I'm getting better at controlling the dry heaves whilst holding the vomit buckets.
