My First and Last Day as a Fashion Blogger

I have a hilarious confession to make.

So I saw Caroline from Un-Fancy was asking for people to apply to be a guest blogger, and I thought "Hey! I should try that!"  There was only one requirement I wasn't sure about: being comfortable behind the camera.

This is how my story begins.  Spoiler alert: it all goes downhill from here.

Just stand there, they said.  It will be fun, they said.
Ok, but what do with my hands???

After several weeks in pajamas, having outgrown most of my regular clothes, I finally said enough is enough.  I ponied up the cash and bought some stuff that fit.  I think this is honestly the first time in my adult life that I have only things in my closet that I like, that fit, and that I know how to make a reasonable outfit with.

Let's try something artsy.  Don't look at the camera.

I know trying new things can be energizing.  I needed some energizing.

Uhh...nope, let's skip the artsy.  Ok pretend you're doing something.
Go check your email on the back of that random Goose in the middle of the woods.

My sister Emily, who is very handy with the camera, happened to be visiting.

You're definitely doing...something...

Apparently all these things deluded me into thinking  it was some sort of cosmic sign that fashion blogging was something I should try.  I didn't think I'd be great at it, but I thought it might motivate me to keep going with the "changing out of my pajamas" thing.

"I didn't think I'd be great at it" - understatement of the year.

I'm not really sure what else there is to say.

How about - "Don't expect another fashion post on this blog.  Ever."

Clearly, my eldest child has not inherited my weaknesses behind the camera.

Nailing the pouty vampire glare and pose.

BUT -

If you can catch me when I have no idea you are taking a picture of me...

It's not too bad :)

I would also like to note that some of these photos were taken by my mom, who has become very talented at pretty much everything under the sun after raising 4 children...
